Scientific Officer - Pesticides Peer Review Unit.

We are looking for a Scientific Officer to work in the Pesticides Peer Review Unit.

Retribuzione annua: 40000€ - 50000€
- Act as focal point with member state regulatory authorities and risk managers in the European Commission;
- Liaise with the EFSA Units to discuss/prepare scientific work;
- Contribute to data collection, data collation, analysis and evaluation of data aimed at preparing scientific material;
- Draft and review scientific outputs through the provision of evidence-based risk assessment;
- Manage a product process of Regulated Products (e.g. the entire Peer Review and/or MRL processes), monitor the correct implementation and ensure compliance with SOPs and procedures;
- Organise, coordinate and support both internal meetings and meetings with external participants, prepare relevant materials;
- Contribute to communicate and present scientific outputs by conveying the right messages and by making scientific concepts understandable to the public;
- Review output templates to ensure fitness for purpose;
- Act as a liaison between the Unit and stakeholders by providing and requesting information as needed.
- Excellent knowledge of English (at least B2 or above);
- At least one year of relevant working experience in pesticides residues consumer risk assessment;
- A scientific background in regulatory science;
- Previous experience in EFSA or another European agency/institution would be considered an asset;
- Behavioural competencies: ability to communicate effectively, ability to work in a team as well flexibility, ability to set priorities and to ensure deadlines are met;
- Proficiency in IT tools, standard office software and electronic management of documents and data.
Assignment: initial contract of 3 months, with possibility of extensions. Expected duration of assignment 12 months.
Salary: approx €3660,00 per month before taxes.
Work modalities: office work is required on at least 2 days per week. Remote work is possible within 2 hours from Parma, Italy for the remaining days.
